Natalie Rodriguez is a bilingual music and art multimedia journalist based in the San Francisco, Bay Area. She obtained a bachelor’s degree with a double major in Ethnic and Xicano studies at the University of California in Berkeley and obtained her master’s degree in New Media Journalism through Full Sail University.
Natalie was born and raised in Oakland, Calif. She is passionate, artistic and community driven. It is her hope that through her journalistic work she is able to give a voice to the underserved people of her community, particularly, the youth.
In more than five years of working and volunteering at different local radio stations she was able to work in promotions, marketing, voice over, hosting and reporting. For more than three years she worked at the Regional Mexican format radio station, KRZZ 93.3 FM, La Raza and then made a drastic change to the Spanish Rock and Alternative radio and television channel, Union Rocker. For four years she has been acting as a volunteer through Circulo Cultural, a local non-profit organization. She currently works with children and youth as a part of a community-learning center and has done so in diverse programs for more than five years.
It was a combination of her love and passion of music, the arts and her community that led her to create NatyRockdriguez.com, an outlet for her work as a freelance journalist. Her hope is to soon be able to combine her talents and experience as a reporter or host at a Latino based television channel.
